As a college student, prospecting jobs and networking with employers can be a daunting task that can intimidate even the most prepared students. You may not know where to start, have the time, or know what resources are available to help you get started. Luckily, your college’s career center is here to help!
Every year the Cal Poly Pomona Career Center holds career fairs on campus where you can prospect and connect with employers in your field! Last academic year, 2022-2023, we hosted over 800 employers in all industries ranging from journalism and entertainment to engineering and teaching. These fairs resulted in students getting interviews and landing positions with companies like Lockheed Martin, PepsiCo, and Enterprise Holdings. This year we have seven fairs planned, three this fall and four in the spring, and we are already on track to be hosting over 300 employers this fall!
With that in mind, why should you attend? Here are six reasons why attending a career fair will be beneficial to you and your career path!

- Nearly half of graduating seniors that attend an in-person career fair get an interview, while 31% receive a job offer.
