Bronco CareerWorks is a service designed to expand career opportunities available to CPP students.
Here’s what students need to know.
What is Bronco CareerWorks?
Bronco CareerWorks is a partnership between Cal Poly Pomona and a professional staffing organization that helps students and alumni connect to meaningful job opportunities. Working alongside the Career Center, Bronco CareerWorks focuses on matching students with roles where they can grow, learn, and succeed.
What can students gain from this partnership?
One major benefit is access. Students may be considered for roles that haven’t even been publicly posted yet, helping streamline the hiring process. Bronco CareerWorks also advocates students by looking at multiple factors, skills, interests, and potential to help place them in roles where they are most likely to thrive.
What should students have prepared before connecting?
Students should come in with a resume, an understanding of their career goals, and a readiness to be professional. It’s okay to still be figuring things out, but having a plan matters. Being on time, prepared, and open to feedback goes a long way, and students can expect support in making their resumes more marketable.
What majors and roles are supported?
Employers are looking for adaptability and strong technical basics. Skills like Excel, Microsoft Word, comfort with AI tools, and the ability to learn quickly can make a big difference. Hiring typically ramps up during February through March and picks up again in May and June with an influx of new grads.
How does the matching process work?
Rather than just scanning resumes, Bronco CareerWorks focuses on transferrable skills and getting to know students as individuals. The goal is to understand how someone might succeed in a role, not just on paper but in real life.
Above all, this partnership is meant to feel supportive. Bronco CareerWorks is here for students, creating a safe, welcoming space, whether you know exactly what you want to do or are still exploring. And as always, the CPP Career Center remains your home base for career development, with Bronco CareerWorks as one more way to help you move forward.
