Curated Resources

  • Career Village.org – View this conversation full of tips and advice by first-gen students sharing their experience with navigating college!
  • Rise First – Providing life and career advice, lists of support resources and mentorship opportunities through a technology platform with online tools.
  • NACE – View these support and advice resources from NACE for First-gen students.

  • I Am First – On campus program helping first-generation college students to navigate the university and help them translate the important life skills they bring with them that will support their academic success.
  • I Am First Mentorship Program – In the I AM FIRST mentoring program, CPP first-generation college students are matched with a faculty or staff member who also identifies as a first-generation college graduate. 
  • EOP – On campus program serving low-income, typically first-generation students, who demonstrate the motivation and potential to succeed in college. 
  • T.R.E.E. – Do you happen to fall under another infinity group? Access the T.R.E.E. website to view the pages for six cultural and identity centers available at Cal Poly Pomona.

  • Imfirst.org – A national non-profit organization and mentorship program for first generation college students.
  • Center for First Generation Student Success – This website provides context for the current state of first-generation student success, shares current conversations and scholarly literature, offers access to programs and services, and highlights opportunities for engagement with the Center and committed colleagues.
