Congratulations, you earned yourself an interview! Review these tips to help yourself prepare, gain confidence in your interviewing skills, and be seen as a candidate who is ready to land that job!
Employers want to know about YOU. Employers look for a variety of transferable skills, as well as candidates who have carefully considered their goals and can connect them to a position and organization. So, refresh your memory about your education, your jobs, your interests, your goals, your strengths, your skills, and what is important to you. Conveying a strong sense of self-awareness is paramount to successful interviewing.
Learning about the company you are interviewing will allow you to speak more confidently about the company, frame your experience through its lens, and determine your fit for the role based off of your values, skills, strengths. Here are some ways that you can get started with researching prospective employers:
- Review the employer’s website and conduct an online search to find any recent news or information and familiarize yourself with the company’s products and services.
- Follow potential employers on LinkedIn to gain insight through recent posts and see if you have connections who are current employees.
