Gaining applicable knowledge in the classroom at Cal Poly Pomona occurs throughout your journey. Career Readiness is intertwined in activities that prepare you for the workforce. Students are encouraged to engage in various experiences outside of the classroom including on campus, off campus jobs, internships, and community engagement.

How long will it take you to secure a job or internship?
Think about this in terms of the Job Search Continuum. As you respond to job listings, attend various Job fairs, volunteering and/or community service activities, you are creating your own network. This helps you with a variety of job search methods including networking on your own time or throughout job or internship activities.
Set aside time for each while attending Cal Poly Pomona. You will learn about career options, develop a resume, and cover letter while learning to tailor them, evaluate positions and interests, apply, and follow-up with individuals you meet.

- I want to attend x number of events this semester.
- I hope to find an internship by x date, for the industry I’d like to pursue.
