Career Center Internship Programs
The Career Center’s Peer Internship program is an opportunity for students to work on campus and gain daily experience assisting students, faculty, and staff. During their time with the Career Center, our peers gain training in resume review, data processing & reporting, events support, and much more.
The Marketing Interns support in branding initiatives including running social media accounts, website management, department CMS efforts, and developing targeted marketing materials.

Lead Peer Career Interns

Brian Tran (he/him): Lead Peer Career Intern
Hi, my name is Brian, and I am a new Lead Peer Career Coach for the Career Center. I am an incoming senior majoring in Marketing Management as well as a minor in Entrepreneurship. I’ve done a lot of work with the Office of Academic Innovation from participating in the Project Hatchery Program, volunteering for the Student Innovation Idea labs, and working on micro-internships in the marketing department. I’m also CPP’s most recent winner of the Bronco Startup Challenge where I pitched my startup company idea, Sarsens. This semester I’m also working as a Student Fellow for the Digital Humanities Consortium in which I’ll be leading marketing efforts and workshops. As a former computer science major, I’ve got an interest in the tech field and ultimately, I want to have my own tech startup company after graduating. As far as career goals, I’m looking to develop skills in project management, brand strategy, and business development.

Heidi Hsu (she/her): Lead Peer Career Intern
Hi everyone! My name is Heidi Hsu (she/her), and I’m a sophomore majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources. My career goal is to become a talent acquisition specialist at a tech company, where I can help connect people with opportunities that truly fit their passions and strengths.
This year, I’m serving as the Lead Peer Career Coach, and I’m really excited about the chance to talk to a wide range of students and support my fellow Cal Poly peers in any way I can. I love helping others feel confident and prepared for whatever comes next in their career journey.

Anissa Camarena (she/her): Peer Career Intern
Hi, my name is Anissa Camarena, and I’m a junior majoring in Psychology at Cal Poly Pomona, with a focus on Industrial-Organizational Psychology. I’m currently a Peer Career Coach at the Career Center, where I’m excited to learn more about resume building and interview skills. I’m especially looking forward to growing both personally and professionally alongside my peers in this role.
My short-term goal is to land a position in Human Resources—ideally at Costco, Toyota, or Microsoft—and my long-term goal is to become a business consultant. Outside of school and work, I enjoy exercising, reading, journaling, photography, and fashion. One thing I’d love for you to know about me is that studying abroad is a personal dream of mine, and I’m determined to make it a reality during my time in my educational career. Fun Fact: I have a one-year-old Rottweiler named Olive, and she has an adorably small head!

Esmeralda Ruvalcaba (she/her): Peer Career Intern
I’m a second-year Early Childhood Education major, and my goal is to become an elementary school teacher. As a Peer Career Coach, I’m excited to support students with resume reviews and help them take advantage of the Career Center’s tools and resources. I’m also looking forward to continuing to learn about career readiness, growing my skills, and collaborating with others in a professional environment. I’d like the Career Center staff to know that I truly enjoy helping people wherever and whenever I can.
Fun Fact: I love to read in my spare time, and I’m almost always listening to music!

Giselle Toth (she/her): Peer Career Intern
I am most excited to learn about the different ways that I can help my peers at CPP with their career goals through the one-on-one sessions and group sessions. I have a few years of experience in front desk work through different gyms and at the CPP housing office. I am passionate about helping others achieve their goals and feel more confident in themselves and their skills to go after any opportunity they are wanting to.
Fun Fact: I used to be a competitive Latin Ballroom dancer for eleven years.

Parker Davidson (he/him): Peer Career Intern
I am a 4th Year Mechanical Engineering Major aspiring to be a Drone Engineer after graduation. My role here at the Career Center is Peer Career Coach and am most excited to be a part of our team and meet new people
Fun Fact: I’ve been to all 50 states!

Reese Buckway (she/her): Peer Career Intern
I’m a transfer student here at CPP. I am majoring in environmental biology with an emphasis on ecology, conservation, and biodiversity. My career goal is to be an environmental scientist and conduct research on the quality of our water systems. I also have interest in environmental law. I am a Peer Career Coach at the Career Center, and I am most excited to meet other transfer students and hopefully help them navigate any challenges they may be facing especially related to their career path.
Fun Fact: I was initially a philosophy major, and my study abroad experience with Citrus College in Costa Rica inspired me to change my major to environmental biology. Even though I am not studying it in school, also really enjoy art, especially painting.
Marketing Interns

Natalie Sanchez (she/her): Marketing and Social Media Intern
I am a fourth-year majoring in Business Administration with a focus in Marketing. In my role at the Career Center, I’m excited to create fresh content, grow our social media presence, and make new connections with students and employers. I also see this position as a great opportunity to learn more about digital marketing, branding, and student engagement, while building skills that I can carry into my future career. My goal is to make our content not only informative, but also as fun and relatable as possible for fellow students.
Fun fact: I own a mobile snack cart !

Reim Nouh (she/her): Marketing and Web Design Intern
I’m a fourth-year Computer Science student with a minor in Marketing Management, driven by a passion for bridging the gap between technology and marketing. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply my technical background to real-world marketing strategies with a focus on web design, user engagement, and digital communication. I’m particularly interested in how data and technology can enhance marketing outcomes and create more personalized, impactful user experiences. Being part of the Career Center team is especially meaningful, as it not only helped me secure this role but has also been instrumental in my growth both professionally and personally.
