Welcome to the affinity page for our Renaissance Scholar students! On this page you will find resources tailored to giving advice and support to our Foster Youth students on campus. These resources will cover topics such as career related organizations, career advice, on campus resources, and general student support resources in the form of website links, videos, resources, and blogs!

Curated Resources

  • California Social Services – Getting a job and keeping it resource. If one of your goals in your transition plan is to get some job experience and earn money, the ILP coordinator in your county can assist you in that process.
  • Independent Living Program – To provide comprehensive services and resources to assist transition age youth (TAY) successfully transition from dependency to self sufficiency.
  • California Career Center – Career related resources for foster youth in California.

  • Renaissance Scholars – Renaissance Scholars (RS) is a comprehensive program dedicated to support the success of current and former foster youth attending Cal Poly Pomona in both undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Student Support & Equity Programs – As part of the Division of Student Affairs, Student Support and Equity Programs (SSEP) is the home of three critical unit areas dedicated to access, equity, and student success: the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), Renaissance Scholars (RS), and Undocumented Students Services (USS).
  • TREE – The Centers for Transformation, Retention, Equity and Empowerment (TREE) is a Student Affairs department made up of six unique Cultural and Identity Centers at Cal Poly Pomona. We seek to empower our community through diversity, inclusion, justice and authenticity. Learn more about the Centers below, and explore our website for ways to stay involved.

  •  California Social Services – Resources for foster youth including financial aid & scholarships, educational, and employment resources.
