PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Resource Manager, this individual assists the District’s Engineering Department with all engineering related activities.
Duties may involve various aspects of water distribution system operations, groundwater monitoring, corrosion control, crop surveys, power management preparation or specifications, composition of reports, interaction with various districts, agencies, and organizations, and perform all other related duties as required.

DESIRBALE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
EDUCATION: At the time of application, current enrollment in an accredited college/university OR must have graduated from a college/university within six (6) months. Preferable coursework should include advanced mathematics, geology, physics, chemistry; computer aided drafting, electricity, hydraulics, surveying, or other engineering related subjects.
EXPERIENCE: One year of experience with Engineering related coursework requiring mathematical calculations and extensive use of written and verbal skills. Must have experience with Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, and Outlook. Possession of a valid California Class C Driver License with a clean DMV record is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk and hear for extended periods of time, and utilized multiple computer keyboards and mice.
The employee frequently is required to stand and walk, and occasionally must drive a District vehicle and walk on uneven or wet or slippery ground including ground, which may contain a few easily avoidable obstacles. The employee is required to use the hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, and occasionally crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
WAGES – $20.00 – $25.00 per hour dependent on experience
HOURS – 0800 to 1630, Monday through Friday with one half hour lunch break from 1200 to 1230.
Fair Labor Standards Act Status – Non-Exempt
