Axe Sports Group is a leading sports marketing agency that focuses on forging powerful brand partnerships and securing high-profile athlete sponsorships. Our roster includes athletes like Ole Miss’ Austin Simmons, Notre Dame’s Kylee Watson (a standout basketball player from Linwood, NJ), UFC’s Bella Mir, and many more. We specialize in growing athletes’ personal brands and connecting them with local businesses to create authentic, innovative marketing campaigns.

Position Overview:

Axe Sports Group is seeking a Sales Intern to assist in securing new brand partnerships for top high school and collegiate athletes from the Southern New Jersey area. This internship will focus on working with athletes such as Kylee Watson (Notre Dame basketball star from Linwood, NJ) and Makayla Green (University of Illinois gymnast), and helping them connect with local businesses in South Jersey. The ideal candidate will assist in business development and sales efforts aimed at targeting local companies, pitching NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) marketing opportunities, and fostering lasting partnerships.

Responsibilities:

Business Development & Lead Generation: Research and identify potential business partners in the Southern New Jersey area, including businesses in communities like Linwood, Atlantic City, and the surrounding towns. Reach out to local businesses (restaurants, gyms, retail shops, etc.) to pitch partnership opportunities with athletes such as Kylee Watson and Makayla Green for paid NIL deals.

Sales & Negotiation: Engage with local businesses, presenting the value of partnering with these athletes for brand collaborations, social media promotions, and content creation. Negotiate mutually beneficial contracts that enhance both the businesses’ marketing efforts and the athletes’ personal brands.

Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with business partners, ensuring ongoing communication to encourage repeat collaborations and expand their involvement with athletes.

Strategy Development: Collaborate with the Axe Sports Group team to create effective marketing strategies that resonate with local businesses. Contribute to the development of creative and compelling campaigns to amplify the athletes’ brands.

Target & Performance Tracking: Set personal sales goals, track progress, and measure success based on the partnerships you secure and the growth of those relationships.

Qualifications:

Sales & Networking Skills: Ability to connect with local businesses, build rapport, and effectively pitch NIL marketing opportunities.

Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, essential for negotiations, proposals, and relationship-building.

Self-Motivated & Goal-Oriented: Results-driven, with a focus on achieving sales targets in a commission-based environment.

Creative & Strategic Thinking: Ability to create innovative marketing ideas that help local businesses benefit from athlete partnerships.

Passion for Sports: A strong interest in sports, particularly in the realm of high school and collegiate athletes, is highly desirable.

Photography & Videography Skills: Knowledge of photography or videography is a plus and may lead to additional paid opportunities.

Time Management & Flexibility: Ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet deadlines while working in a flexible environment.

Compensation:

Commission-Based Earnings:

  • 30% commission on initial partnerships secured by you.
  • 25% commission on continued partnerships if the business continues working with athletes like Kylee Watson and Makayla Green for future campaigns.

Potential for Growth: High-performing interns will be considered for continued work or full-time opportunities with Axe Sports Group after graduation.
