Position Title: Accounting Supervisor, Graham Enterprise, Inc. (GEI)

Job Description: The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for managing and executing key accounting functions and ensures the accuracy and integrity of GEI’s financial reporting processes. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of accounting. Accounting Supervisor will oversee and execute month-end closing activities, and manage various financial processes and will play a crucial role in driving improvements that enhance efficiency, profitability, and the overall financial health of our organization. The position is also responsible for assisting with financial reporting including preparation and management of the various executive and departmental reports.

Reports To: Controller

Key Responsibilities:

Month-End Close Management: Lead and execute month-end close procedures, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and reports.

Department support: Collaborate and support key accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), billing, and reconciliations.

Ensure efficient operations and adherence to accounting standards and best practices.

Financial Analysis: Conduct monthly trial balance and margin analyses to provide meaningful insights into financial performance.

Team Leadership: Mentor and guide Staff Accountant, fostering a culture of collaboration, professional growth, and high performance.

Audit Coordination: Serve as a key point of contact for both internal and external auditors, ensuring all inquiries are addressed promptly and accurately.

Assist in maintaining compliance with financial regulations and organizational policies.

Process Improvement: Drive initiatives aimed at enhancing profitability and quality within the accounting function. You will proactively identify opportunities for procedural improvements and implement best practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure alignment on financial processes and reporting requirements. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.

Additional Duties: Undertake other related tasks as assigned to support the overall objectives of the accounting department.

Skills/Qualifications:

• BS/BA in Accountancy or Finance required (CPA preferred)

• 3-5 years of experience gained in accounting, internal controls, financial reporting, budgeting/planning and analytical projects.

• Experience with accounting software and general ledger including journal entries, allocations, etc.

• Advanced Excel skills with tables and data imports required.

• Excellent written and interpersonal communication abilities.

• High degree of accuracy, problem solving skills, and attention to detail.

• Strong initiative, follow-through and ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects.

• Fuel and Sales tax reporting experience a plus.

• Retail experience a plus
