Summary/Objective:

The Seasonal Ag Service Technician position reports to the Ag Lead Technician and actively interacts with company team members and customers. This role supports our Ag field service activities by performing field service visits, Distribution Uniformity (DU) tests, water sample collection, and other related duties.

Essential Functions:

  • Drive company vehicle to various agricultural fields
  • Accurately measures water and pressure from irrigation systems
  • Take detailed notes, pictures, and precise calculations in the field, to enter the data into software
  • Observe any visible problems with the field and report to dispatch or account manager
  • Collects water samples from predetermined locations
  • Perform DU tests as needed at customer sites
  • Assist with field remediation treatments
  • Possess a valid Driver’s license and maintain a good driving record
  • Complete Driver Disclosure and Release (DMV Pull Notice Program)
  • Acknowledge and abide by rules of the Employee Applicant Drug and Alcohol Statement

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an agricultural setting.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to drive a vehicle
  • Ability to hike uneven terrain
  • Work in inclement weather and adverse conditions is essential
  • Capable of lifting 50 pounds
  • Ability to dig holes occasionally to recover irrigation line
  • Wear PPE in the field under hot weather conditions

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • Full time Seasonal position with eligibility for overtime.
  • Primarily Monday – Friday, with occasional weekend work as needed. Season runs 6-9 months

Travel:

Travel to various worksites within assigned territory is required.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Currently enrolled college student or associate or bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated interest in, or passion for the agricultural industry

Additional Qualifications:

Relevant or related work experience preferred

Other Duties:

  • Assist service technicians
  • Perform field chemical remediations
  • Assist the Warehouse Manager, as needed, at the Meras warehouse location
  • Other duties as assigned
