ABOUT THE ROLE

The intern will work alongside an existing project team involved in current construction projects. The intent is to expose the intern to various aspects of project management, while providing an opportunity to learn, grow, and add value. The goal is to help the intern by offering hands-on experience and assisting them on a career path with CSI, while developing company core values: passion for problem solving, commitment to giving your best, respect for all, learning relevant aspects of the business, and being an asset to the team.

Essential Functions

  • Manage document control and distribution
  • Prepare and track product submittals
  • Display understanding and compliance with policies and procedures
  • Assist the Project Manager with reports and schedule review
  • Assist Field Foreman with information, material tracking, and other administrative functions
  • Work with the pre-fab and lighting departments on an as-needed basis
  • Assist with Take-offs and preliminary estimating
  • Input data into Accubid
  • Maintain As-builts
  • Prepare RFI’s and track/document responses
  • Maintain office and field drawing sets and update as required
  • Assist Project Manager with administrative functions

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, or the equivalent
  • 1-3 years in the construction industry, preferred but not mandatory (*)

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated with a Construction Management, Engineering, or related major
    (*) Can be a combination of trade, education, and relevant work experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Preferred proficiency in BlueBeam, AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Dependability and punctuality for all CSI activities
  • Excellent time management
  • Proactive attitude, showing initiative and the ability to work independently
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing job requirements
  • Ability to drive to jobsites
  • Positive attitude and customer focus
  • Ability to work in a team environment and display leadership skills

Physical Demands

  • Frequently works outdoors on uneven surfaces
  • May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • May be required to stoop, bend, and crouch

Work Environment

  • Works in a climate controlled environment 50% of the time.
  • May work in varying weather conditions: hot, cold, and wet conditions.
  • Frequently works in areas with large industrial equipment subject to high noise levels.
  • May occasionally work in areas with hazardous chemicals.

Compensation & Benefits


  • Hourly Rate $18.00-$24.00/ hour (Non-Exempt)

    • Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. CSI reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications.
