You’ll be part of a fast-moving, high-profile campaign that will include press outreach, screenings, festival submissions, voter engagement, and industry networking.

Key Responsibilities

Festival Strategy & Submissions

  • Maintain a festival calendar and coordinate submission materials (screeners, synopses, press kits)

Theatrical Run Planning

  • Assist in booking and scheduling the 7-day Oscar-qualifying theatrical run in Los Angeles
  • Help coordinate Opening Night event, Q&As, and guild/voter screenings
  • Support advertising logistics (print, digital, and social ads)

FYC Campaign Execution

  • Assist with press list building and media outreach (trades, cultural outlets, podcasts)
  • Coordinate mailing of screeners to Academy members, guilds, and industry influencers
  • Support social media content creation for the FYC campaign
  • Track press mentions, reviews, and industry buzz

Event Support

  • Staff in-person and virtual screenings, panels, and receptions
  • Coordinate guest lists, RSVPs, and follow-up communications
  • Support photographer/videographer logistics

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Comfortable with Google Workspace, Canva, and basic social media scheduling tools
  • Interest in film, publicity, and awards season strategy
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Bonus: Experience with FilmFreeway, MailerLite, Kit.com or Adobe Creative Suite

Interns will gain hands-on experience in:

  • Academy Awards eligibility requirements and campaign strategy
  • Film festival submission process and award-season positioning
  • Red carpet, premiere, and industry screening production
  • FYC marketing tactics used by major studios and distributors

Compensation

  • This is an unpaid internship for academic credit or professional experience.
  • Stipends for travel and event-related expenses will be provided.
