Part-Time Farm Operations & Community Programs Assistant
Location: Rialto, California
Pay: $22 per hour
Schedule: Approximately 16 hours per week
A community farm in Rialto is hiring a dependable Part-Time Farm Operations & Community Programs Assistant interested in agriculture, sustainability, food systems, community programming, or farm-based entrepreneurship.
This is primarily a hands-on agricultural position. The role combines three hands-on farm shifts each week with approximately one administrative, event, marketing, or communications shift.
Responsibilities include:
Planting, harvesting, watering, garden care, and general farm maintenance
Maintaining clean, safe, and organized outdoor farm spaces
Completing recurring farm responsibilities reliably and independently
Supporting community events, workshops, tours, and farm-based experiences
Assisting with basic administrative tasks, scheduling, communications, and event preparation
Helping with marketing, social media, photography, video, storytelling, or community outreach when needed
Supporting other farm operations as assigned
We are looking for someone who:
Is dependable, punctual, and comfortable working independently
Can reliably commute to Rialto, California
Is comfortable performing physical outdoor work
Can stand for extended periods and perform tasks involving bending, lifting, carrying supplies, planting, harvesting, and general garden maintenance
Is available approximately 16 hours per week
Is interested in agriculture, sustainability, food systems, community programs, wellness, education, or entrepreneurship
Is willing to learn and take ownership of recurring responsibilities
Previous farming or gardening experience is helpful but not required. Students, recent graduates, and community members are encouraged to apply.
The position provides practical experience in urban agriculture, farm operations, sustainability, community-event production, marketing, storytelling, and farm-based entrepreneurship.
Compensation: $22 per hour
Hours: Approximately 16 hours per week, generally consisting of three hands-on farm shifts and one administrative, event, communications, or marketing shift.
