About MOOOOV
MOOOV is building the end-to-end subscription platform for high-value electronics rental. As more consumers choose access over ownership, hardware brands are moving into rental and subscription models, but running these programs is operationally complex. We provide a full solution for brands launching or scaling in the U.S., handling customer onboarding, subscription billing, device lifecycle management, fulfillment coordination, and internal tooling. We work with cross-functional teams, translating real-world business logic into clean, reliable systems.
We’re also investing in AI integration across our platform, building intelligent systems that can automate decision-making and improve operational efficiency at scale.
The Role
We’re looking for a Software Engineering Intern to help build and maintain our backend services and APIs, with opportunities to work on AI-powered features as we expand our platform’s capabilities. You’ll work onsite in Irvine alongside product and operations team.
You’ll be involved in design discussions, documentation, and cross-team communication. We value engineers who think beyond their own codebase.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs
- Contribute to API design and system architecture decisions
- Help integrate LLM and AI capabilities into backend workflows
- Write documentation that other people can actually use (API specs, internal guides)
- Work with product and operations to turn business requirements into technical solutions
- Bridge communication between English- and Mandarin-speaking teams
What We’re Looking For
- Solid fundamentals in backend development and API design (REST preferred)
- Ability to write clear technical documentation
- Mandarin fluency for technical and product discussions
- Comfortable working onsite in Irvine at least 20 hours/week
- Product awareness: you care about why something is being built, not just how
- CPT/OPT candidates welcome
Bonus Points
- Experience working with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) or building AI-powered features
- Familiarity with prompt engineering or integrating AI services into production systems
- Understanding of when to apply AI vs. traditional rule-based approaches
- Experience with modern backend frameworks or cloud platforms
- Familiarity with subscription/billing systems or internal tooling
- Contributions to open source projects (links to GitHub or merged PRs welcome)
- Prior work in bilingual or cross-border teams
