Looking to hire a part-time farmers market team member for various farmers markets in Santa Clara and San Mateo, Monterey, and Santa Cruz Counties on Saturdays and/or Sundays. We are a year-round farming operation seeking consistent, reliable help.
Working hours roughly 7 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Candidate meets at market at 7 am to help unload and set up product in a timely, artistic, and efficient manner. During market hours 9 am – 1 pm, candidate is open to engage with other market staff, vendors, and customers and create good rapport. A bit of knowledge about organic food systems, and the ability to test product and experiment with cooking/preparing our veggies is encouraged to create a positive experience for the customer.
Candidate is also responsible for doing quick math, dealing with cash in a responsible manner, and thinking ahead to restock and effectively display product throughout market hours.
Candidate will help break down and reload the van at the end of the day. Must be able to lift 30 lb at a minimum, 50 lb assisted, and must be able to work on feet outdoors for long periods of time.
In addition to a cash payment on working days, an additional weekly stipend is given to each market crew member to use for Spade & Plow product or trades with other vendors.
